IAGOS is a new European Research Infrastructure conducting long-term observations of atmospheric composition, aerosol and cloud particles on a global scale from commercial aircraft of internationally operating airlines. IAGOS is organized as an International not for profit Association (IAGOS-AISBL) with its seat in Brussels. Members of the Association are leading research organizations, universities and weather services from Germany, France and the U.K.

The Annual IAGOS Meeting is organised jointly with the Annual Meeting of the FP7 project IGAS (IAGOS for the GMES Atmospheric Service), which is conceived as a bridge between the measurements of IAGOS and the needs of the user community, with a particular focus on the use of these data by the Copernicus Atmosphere Service. Activities contained within IGAS include database development, the development of tools for satellite validation, the provision of near-real-time measurements, the development and documentation of QA/QC procedures, and targeted instrument development.

The public part of the annual IAGOS meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th, where we plan to gather representatives of institutions and companies involved in and supporting the operation of IAGOS. Main objectives are to exchange information on progress, including highlights of the scientific results, and to discuss plans for the future development of the IAGOS infrastructure.

The Annual IGAS Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 19th. Meetings of the different work packages of IGAS are planned on Monday and Tuesday.
