”BUFR” Bulletin

This bulletin is provided to the Numerical Weather Forecasts Centres which need to initialize their models with synthetic observations. These observations allow to better represent cyclonic vortices within the analysis fields (”bogussing” technique). This bulletin is issued in BUFR format whenever a tropical or subtropical or extratropical (from tropical origin) cyclone is present on the SouthWest Indian Ocean every 6 hours, at 0000, 0600, 1200, 1800 UTC.
