Information on the production
RSMC La Réunion makes a daily analysis of the activity in the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) over the South-West Indian Ocean. Each day, a bulletin is therefore issued to describe the meteorological activity over the basin. This Daily Outlook is also called "ITCZ" bulletin.
RSMC La Réunion is responsible for the monitoring of all the tropical systems occurring on its area of responsibility (from the equator to 40°S and between African coastline and 90°E).
Therefore, the RSMC issues regular advisories/bulletins on every tropical system present over the basin (every 6 hours for tropical systems of significant intensity):
-
the Marine Advisory (Marine Warning for Metarea VII and Metarea VIII (S)) provides information related to a tropical, subtropical or extratropical system to the marine users. This warning indicates the systems intensity, the storm type and related warning (for instance a storm force warning for a severe tropical storm), motion and number, the latitude and longitude coordinates of the storms centre, and a description of the related disturbed weather, winds and sea areas. Then follow track and intensity forecasts for 12 and 24 hours ranges from the current synoptic time, and comments
-
the tropical cyclone analysis and forecast bulletin (or commonly called the RSMC advisory) is the most complete technical bulletin explaining the analysis and prognosis made by the tropical cyclone specialist at RSMC La Reunion. In addition to the current latitude and longitude coordinates of the centre, the storm's intensity (minimum sea level pressure and maximum winds), the advisory contains forecasts of the positions and intensities of the system for the 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 and 72 hours ranges (starting from the synoptic time of the advisory). The Dvorak satellite analysis of the system is generally also included. The expertise of the cyclone specialist is delivered through detailed comments on the structure of the system and of its environment.

satellites bulletins, aviation advisories for the ICAO, BUFR bulletins and Best Track bulletins.
