Entry/Visa requirements
Participants must be in possession of a valid passport. An entry visa is required for certain countries with specific mention of validity for Réunion Island. Very important: to avoid difficulties and any unexpected delays, it is recommended that visa applications be submitted as soon as possible.
Currency
The currency used in Réunion Island is the Euro (€). For your information, the exchange rate was in the order of 1.32 USD for 1 € at the beginning of september 2013.
Participants are expected to come with Euros in cash. In lieu of Euros, Dollars in cash (or in travellers’ cheques) will make the exchange easier otherwise. Cash dispensers, stores, and almost all the restaurants take international credit cards. It is recommennded to inquire with one's bank about the percentage of the taken committees.
Hotel accomodation and transportation from the hotel to the training course
Participants will stay at the Central Hotel in the center of Saint Denis, 5 kilometers from the training center in Meteo-France.
A daily shuttle service from the Central Hotel to the premises of the RSMC La Réunion will be available to participants.
Participants will receive complimentary transport from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport.
Computer security at Météo France center
Participants are kindly requested not to bring in any file onto a device connected to Météo-France network, before checking by the local IT service.
In particular, flash disks have to be checked before connecting to Météo-France network.
Other
The electric supply in La Réunion is 220V.
